Tui re-designed
www.reuters.co.uk in 2002. The new site was a significant development for Reuters headline website and featured far more news than previous versions.
The entire interface and structure was re-thought as part of a rolling programme of improvement. Increased content with increased usability were the main focus. Links to fast-breaking financial news articles were given much more importance on the home page. Improvements to the navigation included the use of breadcrumb trails and more prominent linking of related articles. Independent research carried out by
www.fhios.com showed significant measurable improvements to usability, legibility and performance. Site speed was increased by up to 80% while site malleability and modularity was also been enhanced.
